Supernatural Kitchen

Straight away, you are hit with a pop-up CTA. It’s in your face, provides the right information, and stands out from other elements.

Overall, it’s a very simple design, and it makes use of scrolling effects and emphasizes its brand color choices (yellow-orange hues). The on-page elements are set up to highlight the product and not give unimportant information for your audience to process.

🟡 Takeaway: Don’t settle for the Squarespace included imagery. Hire a videographer, or at least invest in some premium stock images to make your homepage stand out.

Fat Choy

So many restaurants settle for the bare minimum when building their Squarespace website. Fat Choy does a fantastic job of creating a fantastic UX for their audience.

You will notice from the get-go:

  • What they do

  • Their menu

  • Their opening times

They give the visitor exactly what they want to know within a few seconds of them being on the page. No fluff.

They make use of black-and-white sections to set the tone, and only use their brand colours when they have an important piece of information to share.

🧠 Tip: Learn how to make use of colour psychology for your brand and Squarespace Website.

Jones Bar BQ

This example uses the classic approach with a nice bold hero section, and gets the right information across. Here are a few ways they have built credibility on their Squarespace website:

  • High-quality food shots

  • Branded sauces

  • Client logos

You will notice that this website is not very complicated at all, using only the base Squarespace features, as well as a small amount of custom CSS for styling.

BathHouse

This is a fantastic example of the basic Squarespace features being used and conversion psychology. BathHouse has done a fantastic job of keeping things simple.

They have avoided any clutter, and kept things simple. From what I can see the only piece of code on their website is from a custom font, as well as some simple animations for the on page elements.

🚫 Too many options overwhelm visitors. Highlight just a few featured products for better results.
